Coping with Depression and Anxiety in a World of Uncertainty: Conversations, Tips and Resources

Join us to identify the triggers and signs for depression and anxiety, and how to identify resources for struggling children, teens, and college students. Dr. Maker will share common markers for depression and anxiety, and provide evidence-based tools and interventions that you can utilize in your home, in the community, and in schools/colleges to foster coping and resilience. It takes a village to help kids thrive in these difficult times and Dr. Maker’s interactive seminar/workshop will integrate recommendations from a bio-psycho-social perspective.

The Ins and Outs of IEPs and 504 Plans

During this presentation, you will learn how to help your child in the school setting by understanding the ins and outs of IEPs and 504 plans. Learn the difference between these two legal documents as well as how to request them, what to look out for, and how to maintain the documents as your child moves on to the next phase in their education. Common mistakes will be discussed as well as tips for a well-written IEP/504 document

Come prepared to share a quick tip or family strategies that have worked for you. Ideas include tips for: behaviors, academics and homework, eating, sleep, medication, or lowering stress. Invite a friend!
