Can adults have ADHD?
Yes, ADHD can persist into adulthood. Adult ADHD symptoms often differ from childhood presentations and include difficulties with time management, organization, and regulating emotions. Many adults remain undiagnosed until they seek help for challenges at work, in relationships, or with parenting. Lately, many adults are stumbling on their own diagnosis because their child was just diagnosed.
Can diet or supplements cure ADHD?
There is no scientific evidence that specific diets or supplements can cure ADHD. However, a balanced diet rich in whole foods may help with overall health and brain function. Omega-3 fatty acids have shown modest benefits for some children with ADHD, but they should not replace evidence-based treatments like therapy and medication.
Do children outgrow ADHD?
While some symptoms may diminish with age, ADHD often persists into adulthood. About 60-70% of children diagnosed with ADHD continue to experience symptoms as adults, although they may manifest differently. (ie. internalized hyperactivity as restlessness).

How does emotional dysregulation fit into ADHD?
While not part of the official DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, emotional dysregulation is a significant component of ADHD for many people and it has a strong basis in scientific research. It is frequently observed in clinical practice and research, where it is considered a hallmark of ADHD-related impairments.
